Alana Thompson, known as “Honey Boo Boo,” shared her struggles during the lengthy custody battle between her mother, Mama June Shannon, and her sister, Lauryn Eifird. In a TikTok video, Alana admitted to battling depression during her teenage years, particularly between the ages of 14 and 16. She expressed uncertainty about graduating high school but proudly revealed she achieved a 3.0 GPA and will attend her dream college to become a neonatal nurse with a $21,000 scholarship.

Alana moved in with Lauryn at 14 when Mama June faced legal issues. Lauryn sought custody in December 2021, eventually gaining sole custody in April 2022, with Mama June ordered to provide $800 in child support monthly. Despite the challenges, Alana appreciates her sister’s support. Mama June also faced legal consequences, including community service and a correctional program.

Reflecting on her mother’s drug abuse, Alana emphasized its profound impact but expressed pride in her own journey. She said, “I had no idea where I would wind up when my mother’s drug use got serious. I’m proud of how far I’ve gone and of myself.”
